Hello... s'Me Again.

Hi There!

Yes, I KNOW it's been a LONG time since I've blogged but I've been doing some thinking.

First, this "begging" is REAL work!
SERIOUSLY, I should be "working" at this a LOT MORE, if people are to notice me, right?

I haven't been adding my "signature" to my emails or public posts.... This, I GOTTA do and stop being ashamed of begging.

Second, I've FINALLY asked Gilbert to help me transfer all of the $62 dollars to my bank account, in a special "Savings" account.... just for my MILLION DOLLAR retirement fund.

Third, I've come to the realization... and I'm positive you'll all agree with me here.... that to get help, you gotta first help yourself, right?

Sooooo, I plan on dropping in a small amount of money, every payday. PLUS, I plan on trying to raise money by selling "stuff".

And the third thing or realization is why it took me so long to blog...

I had to make a decision.

Do I ONLY count the money that has been donated to me or do I start adding to the pot, myself... And IF I did, would I be able to brag, one day that I got a LOT of friends to donate this money?!?!?

Well, I'm back to the fact that to get help, you gotta help yourself, right?

Sooooo, any spare monies will be going into that special bank account. Anyone wish to donate funds - they're more than welcome! I'll be telling the world that my internet friends (and I) helped raise "Rosa's Retirement Donation Fund"!!!

Today, I received 2 surprise

We call them "Loonies",
as there's always a "Loon" on 1 side
of this coin.

And my sister sent me a belated
birthday gift...
a bunch of scratch tickets!!!!

Hey Mistah - Can Ya Spare a Buck?

Hi There!

On the 16th of February, 2010, I decided that I wanted to retire - ASAP...

As with most of my crazy ideas, I usually pass them by Gilbert. We brain storm together, whether my idea is do-able or not do-able. As far as I'm concerned, we make a great team. :-)

Anyhow, I came home for dinner, that day, and here's how our conversation went:

Me - I've got a crazy idea and was wondering if you've ever seen this before or if you think it's do-able.
Him - Yes? *his eyes perked up, with interest*
Me - Well, there's almost TWO BILLION internet connections out there, right? I did a Google on these figures. What if only ONE "Million" people each gave me a dollar? We'd have enough to retire, right?
Him - Yah, but what will you give them in return?
Me - Nothing.
Him - Yah, but you just can't ASK people for a dollar and not ask anything in return! They want some candy or something back.
Me - Well, how about a "Thank You" from me? Or "Bragging Rights", eh?
Him - I don't think so. People usually expect something.
Me - Hmmm... well, maybe. But when you give money to the guy on the street corner, or send money to a worthy cause.... you expect that it helps them, right? Well, I can ASSURE everyone that this is for a worthy cause - my retirement - and that I DO appreciate it. :-)
Him - Hmmm... you know, I don't think I've ever seen this done, before. Maybe it would work.
Me - (I could see his wheels turning).
Me - Besides, who knows, eh? I might be invited on TV, someday - Oprah, I'm available!!! - and my donors could watch and say, "Hey! I gave a dollar to that girl's retirement fund!!!" Bragging Rights! That's it!
Him - Well, it would be an easy thing to set up, with PayPal. All s'you need to do is make them go to their account and deposit their dollar.
Me - (I was finally winning him over to MY way of thinking!... LOL)

So, as with all my crazy ideas, it took me a day to think out the logistics and came up with these basic ideas, that might help:
a) Donate 1 dollar. Call it - Coffee for Rosa, Thanking me for Whatever, or just "Because".
b) Add my newly created "Bragging Button" on their website or blog, hopefully with my link, thus generating more traffic here.
c) Add themselves as one of my followers and/or add my link to their "favorites" ... and watch my barometer move upwards.

Hi there!

Yesterday, I was in a blue funk.

Yes, I'm lucky to have a job and I'm healthy - thank God!... but my job's becoming quite stressful and for reasons I'd rather not go into, "they" predict that I'll only be there for another 2 years, anyhow. My official retirement age should be in 12 years...

Do the math. *long sigh*

Okay, remember the guy that started with a paper clip (OneRedPaperClip) and kept trading up, until he ended up with a house? And remember the person that sold advertisements, on their web page (The Million Dollar Web Page)?

Well, I was trying to wrack my brain and figure out SOME kind of scheme or whatever, to raise a million dollars. No, I don't want to be a "millionaire", but I figured that if Gilbert and I were to continue, work-free, for 12 or 15 years, this is what it would take... rounding off figures, mind you.

So, I did a quick "Google" and, according to Wikipedia, there's an estimated 6,803,000,000 people on this planet, right? But, this figure wouldn't help me with the demographics that I was looking for. Not everyone has the internet, right?

A couple more searches and I found the estimated figure of internet connections:

1,733,993,741 'NET USERS !!!

In case you have problems, like me, wrapping your brain around this one, that's like almost 2 BILLION connections!!!!

Soooo, I figured if only ONE million people went into their Paypal account and sent me ONE dollar, my dream could become a reality.

Crazy idea? Maybe.

But I plan on adding this blog addy to ALL my signatures... in hopes that my request gets seen ALL OVER THE WORLD! *grin*
